Introduction
We are able to offer the highest quality of laser safety
services, whether this is in the context of laser safety training, consultancy
or test and certification of a laser or LED products. UKAS accredited testingto
EN 60825-1, using not only the leading test house in the UK for such testing,
but also (as far as we can ascertain) the only test house with UKAS
accreditation for this standard. Below is an overview of the services
available:
Laser Safety Consultancy
Advice on all aspects of laser and LED safety from
Europes leading experts.
Registration of Laser Products with the FDA (CDRH)
A laser product report will be compiled and submited to
the CDRH and the accession number will be obtained which enables your laser
product to be imported and/or sold in the USA.
Laser Safety Audits
A comprehensive report written by an expert in the
field, which can be used as evidence of due diligence, and which
details all required training, engineering controls, administrative controls
and PPE.
All audits will report in accordance with the following European
Standards, Directives and UK law as appropriate:
EN 60825-1 Safety of laser products
EN 60825-2 Safety of Fibre Optic Telecommunication Systems
EN 60825-4 Laser Guards
EN 207 Laser Protective Eyewear
EN 208 Laser Alignment Eyewear
IEC TR 60825-14 Users Guide for safety of lasers
Machinery Directive
Health & Safety in the Workplace Act
Laser Protection Adviser (LPA)
We can provide LPAs certificated by the ALSP for
Cosmetic & Dental Clinics, as well as all other laser applications.
Laser Product Safety Testing to EN 60825-1, EN 60825-12
and EN 60601-2-22
UKAS accredited testing for all laser products,
including open beam communication systems and medical laser products.
LED Product Safety Testing to EN 60825-1
UKAS accredited testing for all LED products including
LED torches, toys containing LEDs, IR illuminators, UV LEDs and other products
containing LEDs.
Optical Radiation Safety Services
It is expected that services will include:
Classification of products emitting non-laser optical
radiation
Undertaking workplace risk assessments (including calculations
and/or measurements) on behalf of employers and providing advice on how to
ensure that the ELVs are not exceeded
Training in non-laser optical radiation safety
Supply of a range of products related to non-laser optical
radiation safety
Optical Radiation Safety Testing
With the Physical Agents Directive on the horizon,
testing of conventional light sources to optical radiation
standards is expected to become more commonplace. We test to the latest
available standards.
Laser Safety Training
A wide array of training options for different
applications including; laboratory, industrial, telecommunications, medical and
cosmetic.
Three levels of training are available:
1 - 2 hours Laser hazard awareness training
4 - 8 hours Standard laser safety training
8 - 16 hours Intensive laser safety training
All laser safety training is to the latest laser safety standards,
European Directives and UK law.
These include:
Health & Safety in the Workplace Act
Machinery Directive
Low Voltage Directive
PPE Directive
EN 60825-1
EN 60825-2 (where applicable)
EN 60825-12 (where applicable)
