Scitec Instruments Polska is pleased to be co-operating with ZiNIR Ltd to offer AlphaBright, a broadband scientific light source for scientists and engineers needing intense VIS-NIR light coupled through an optical fibre.

Unlike competing scientific light sources, AlphaBright uses a bespoke optical design to couple a large proportion of the Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) bulb’s light into the fibre optic cable. AlphaBright is much brighter than alternative QTH sources offering improved illumination and stronger signals in optical measurement systems.

AlphaBright allows poorly reflective materials, such as soil and rubber, to be analysed. It also allows samples which are illuminated at a distance to be studied. It has a patented design that uses a precision manufactured bespoke optical design to maximise the amount of light coupled into the fibre. The design also ensures that using filters with the unit does not introduce any unexpected aberrations into the light output.

The unit warms-up in approximately 10 minutes and its intensity is stable to within ±0.1% under typical conditions.
